Senior Functional Consultant (AI)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work with work from home two days per week. Travel of 30–50% may be required based on client needs.

What you will do

• Apply industry best practices, business process knowledge, and the o9 platform to anchor planning transformation projects from design through delivery.
• Lead blueprinting workshops, understand customer requirements, and document business requirements and functional designs.
• Support technical teams in identifying, documenting, and planning data requirements from ERP, PLM, databases, spreadsheets, email, and other sources.
• Support project managers with user-story planning, sprint mapping, timelines, risk tracking, and customer sign-offs.
• Work with configuration and build teams to deliver planning use cases, validate scope and deliverables, demonstrate solutions, and secure user-story acceptance.
• Develop and deliver Super User and End User training while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve delivery issues.

Requirements

• Experience in consulting or IT system implementation projects, including requirements organization, issue identification, design, development, or testing.
• Experience structuring complex topics and presenting them clearly to customers and project teams.
• Experience using data analysis or logic-building approaches such as Excel, SQL, Python, or other analysis tools.
• Interest in supply chain planning, demand and supply planning, production planning, statistics, or optimization technologies.
• Experience with agile methods or sprint-based project delivery is advantageous.
• Native-level Japanese or advanced business-level negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills are required; English communication for global collaboration and training tools is also expected.
