Archival Digitization Specialist

Location: Williamsburg, VA, United States; onsite only

What you will do

• Capture digital images of archival documents according to established specifications.
• Perform quality audits on scanned image rolls before transmission.
• Report project progress and audit notes, and maintain complex spreadsheets.
• Manage the delivery and transmission of image files to the corporate office.
• Perform equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs with third-party hardware providers.
• Complete basic image enhancement, file organization, and other project-related tasks.

Requirements

• Experience with digitization, archival documents, and goal-oriented projects.
• Experience using scanning and editing equipment, procedures, and materials.
• Background in photography, libraries and archives, or history.
• Ability to work independently on focused and repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize urgency, anticipate problems, and develop practical solutions.
• Must be able to work onsite in Williamsburg, VA; this is not a work-from-home position.
