Senior Director, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

Location: Los Angeles, United States; candidates within a reasonable commute to an office work onsite at least 3 days a week

Salary: $224,000–$280,000 per year, plus eligible short-term and long-term incentive programs and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the subject-matter expert for complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, business combinations, stock-based compensation, leases, debt and equity.
• Own SEC filings, earnings support, external reporting deliverables, disclosures, and adoption of new accounting standards.
• Lead the Customer Zero agenda by adopting and testing hirify.global products in the finance reporting function and providing feedback to Product and Engineering.
• Lead responsible adoption of AI, including Verity AI and agentic capabilities, across technical accounting and financial reporting.
• Own the strategy, governance, and rollout of a data warehouse reporting capability for the general ledger, consolidations, SEC reporting, disclosures, and management reporting.
• Partner with auditors, internal audit, the Controller, CAO, CFO, and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen controls and improve reporting efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and in-house technical accounting or external reporting at a public company.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting, including complex accounting positions, technical memos, SEC filings, and external reporting close processes.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive cross-functional initiatives, and communicate complex accounting topics clearly to senior and non-finance audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience at a SaaS or technology company.
• Hands-on experience with hirify.global, finance transformation, automation, or ERP and reporting system implementations.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, BI and reporting tools, modern data platforms, or Snowflake.
• Experience piloting or scaling AI in finance or accounting.
• Experience serving as a customer-facing reference or thought leader.
