Senior Underwriter (Fintech)

What you will do

• Review and evaluate SMB financing applications and supporting documentation.
• Analyze business bank statements, cash flow, revenue patterns, existing debt, credit reports, and other financial data.
• Assess repayment capacity, creditworthiness, fraud indicators, inconsistencies, and overall transaction risk.
• Make underwriting decisions or funding recommendations, including appropriate financing amounts, terms, and conditions.
• Document underwriting rationale, escalate complex or high-risk cases, and collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Risk stakeholders.
• Manage multiple applications in a high-volume environment and contribute feedback to underwriting policies and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in underwriting, credit analysis, risk analysis, or commercial lending.
• Experience with SMB or business lending, fintech, alternative lending, merchant cash advance, working capital financing, or commercial credit.
• Experience analyzing business bank statements, cash flow, credit information, and small-business financial health.
• Ability to make independent risk decisions rather than processing applications solely against a checklist.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and risk indicators.
• Must be located in Latin America and have strong written and verbal English communication skills.
