Principal Reliability Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States

Expected base pay: $142,220–$213,000 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Define qualification strategies, plans, schedules, and status reporting for new products and processes.
• Specify qualification hardware requirements, including HTOL and HAST boards, and coordinate design, verification, and delivery with testing labs and cross-functional teams.
• Execute semiconductor qualification and reliability testing according to approved plans.
• Manage reliability suppliers and subcontractors and support new vendor qualification.
• Evaluate design, manufacturing, and material changes for product reliability and qualification.
• Prepare qualification reports, drive failure analysis, and support customer quality and reliability information requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field, with more than 10 years of relevant experience; master’s or PhD candidates should have more than 5 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor product qualification and reliability testing.
• Knowledge of CMOS and Bi-CMOS fabrication, semiconductor packaging, IC testing, and silicon and packaging failure mechanisms.
• In-depth knowledge of HTOL, HAST, thermal cycling, ESD, latch-up, JEDEC, AEC, and Telcordia standards.
• Experience with high-speed analog devices, vendor HTOL stress-pattern bring-up, qualification hardware design, data scoping, and HTOL setup.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, organization, and independent collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with reliability data statistical analysis and JMP or Minitab.
• Understanding of FMEA and risk assessment.
• Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering field.
