Health Products Technical SME (Remote)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM ET.

Salary: $150,000–$155,000 annually.

What you will do

• Provide strategic technology and product leadership for complex initiatives in healthcare, research, data management, and interoperability.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across product development, operations, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Develop technology strategies, product roadmaps, architecture approaches, and implementation plans.
• Analyze business requirements, workflows, technical environments, and organizational dependencies to identify risks, constraints, and modernization opportunities.
• Manage key applications, including day-to-day operations, incident triage, continuous improvement, and structured change management.
• Define system and network requirements, design interfaces, assess technical performance, and support customer and business development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems, business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• 15 years of relevant experience, or 10 additional years of commensurate experience.
• Experience with enterprise technology leadership, product strategy, and architecture for complex systems.
• Experience with systems interoperability, secure data exchange, business process analysis, requirements translation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience owning application operations, incident triage, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• VA Health Product domain experience, including NUMI or MVP initiatives.
• Experience coordinating secure large-dataset transfers with external partners such as ORNL.
• Experience evaluating large language models for clinical data extraction, synthesis, and chart review support.
• Experience designing secure phenotype-data exchange with regulatory agencies.
• Experience isolating root causes and resolving infrastructure communication issues across organizations.
