Academic Success Coach I

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; on-campus university role

Salary: Up to $18.79 per hour ($39,083.20 annually, approximately)

What you will do

• Provide individual and group academic coaching to conditionally admitted students and students below good academic standing.
• Manage a student caseload, answer academic questions, and connect students with resources for time management, test preparation, study skills, and supplemental support.
• Monitor student progress, including midterm and final grades, and support retention and student engagement initiatives.
• Implement academic support projects, interpret university policies and procedures, and participate in orientations, workshops, fairs, and other campus events.
• Maintain student contracts, assessments, referrals, progress reports, and achievement records.
• Collaborate with university staff and contribute to recruitment and student engagement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with at-risk populations, conditionally admitted students, or students on university scholastic probation.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Navigate, Banner, DegreeWorks, and Argos student information systems.
• Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for student success programming and university events.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• At least three years of experience with at-risk populations, academic support, or students on scholastic probation.
• Experience working in higher education.
