TL;DR
Student Development Specialist III (Higher Education/Case Management): Supporting students through individual case management, referrals, critical incident follow-up, and coordination with university services with an accent on student well-being, sensitive information, and cross-campus collaboration. Focus on assessing student needs, documenting interactions, supporting crisis-response cases, and delivering programs and presentations for campus stakeholders.

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; full-time, on-site staff position.

Salary: $59,512–$62,000 per year; proposed minimum salary of $4,959.34 per month.

What you will do

  • Provide individual developmental and educational conversations, consultations, referrals, and follow-up support for students.
  • Manage student cases involving concerning behavior, relationship issues, university rules, absences, crises, emergencies, and transitions.
  • Support the Critical Incident Response Team through follow-up services after immediate assistance has been provided.
  • Document student interactions and complete assessments using designated software and databases.
  • Coordinate programs such as Silver Taps, Former Foster initiatives, and Pocket Pantry.
  • Deliver training and presentations and represent Student Assistance Services on committees, task forces, and at university events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in student affairs or a related specialty, including two years in student affairs.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, dependability, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive student information.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems, collaborate, and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with case management in a higher education setting.
