Actuarial Internship (Health Insurance)

Location: Must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah. Hybrid internship with 3 days per week in the office; in-person, remote, and hybrid options are available. Preference is given to candidates able to work in person 1–3 days per week in Portland, OR or Renton, WA.

What you will do

• Support actuarial analysis and technical functions within the Actuarial Division.
• Help proactively manage and retrospectively track the company’s financial and risk positions.
• Prepare analysis and reporting that supports corporate strategic goals.
• Work with large datasets, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and databases.
• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to actuarial projects.

Requirements

• Working toward a degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, or a related field.
• Progress toward passing at least one actuarial exam.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program through spring 2027.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment sponsorship now or in the future.

• Experience using generative AI tools and resources in the area of expertise.
