Associate Systems Analyst - IT Health Plan (Healthcare)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia, United States; standard office environment with travel to WVUHS facilities and affiliated sites as needed.

What you will do

• Support configuration, implementation, testing, maintenance, and optimization of software systems for Utilization Management and Pharmacy workflows.
• Translate clinical, operational, medical, pharmacy, and regulatory requirements into system requirements, workflows, and testing scenarios.
• Support Epic Tapestry and integrated vendor solutions for prior authorization, appeals and grievances, medical necessity review, pharmacy management, and utilization review.
• Participate in end-to-end testing and issue resolution across authorization, benefits, claims, pharmacy, and related clinical workflows.
• Manage basic data imports, exports, reporting, user security settings, system documentation, and project coordination.
• Provide end-user support and training, assess user readiness, and contribute to training materials and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or two years of relevant experience.
• Foundational ability to analyze business needs, document functional specifications, troubleshoot systems, test workflows, and communicate technical information.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
• Understanding of health plan concepts such as benefits, claims, authorizations, medical necessity, pharmacy benefits, and managed care operations.
• Ability to collaborate with clinical, operational, business, and IT stakeholders and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to work in the Morgantown, West Virginia office environment and travel to affiliated facilities or sites when required.

Nice to have

• Clinical background or licensure such as RN, LPN, PharmD/RPh, or Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience with Utilization Management, Pharmacy, prior authorization, Medical Management, health plans, payers, PBMs, or managed care.
• Experience with Epic Tapestry or comparable payer technology.
• Experience with cloud-based healthcare applications, web services, reporting tools, systems administration, or clinical data management.
