Sr. AI Engineer

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. The role involves work with U.S. export-controlled technology and data; only U.S. persons are eligible.

Salary: $145,900–$234,200 per year, with potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity subject to eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and operate AI software platforms and cloud deployment patterns for Supply Chain and Enterprise Digital.
• Define architecture, engineering standards, reusable libraries, APIs, orchestration patterns, and model-serving interfaces.
• Build AI/ML/LLMOps capabilities including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, model and prompt versioning, evaluation, monitoring, incident response, and rollback.
• Develop lakehouse, Unity Catalog, MLflow, feature engineering, vector search, observability, and enterprise access governance patterns.
• Integrate SAP and enterprise data sources into trusted data products, feature pipelines, semantic layers, and decision-support services.
• Partner with product, architecture, cybersecurity, quality, validation, infrastructure, and business stakeholders while mentoring engineers across regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI, data science, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software, data, or AI engineering experience, including 4+ years delivering production ML, GenAI, analytics, automation, or data-intensive systems.
• Expert Python and SQL skills, strong software architecture fundamentals, and experience with Java, Scala, or TypeScript.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern framework, plus backend experience designing production APIs and services.
• Experience architecting LLM/GenAI systems using RAG, agents, embeddings, vector search, evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export-control laws; hirify.global cannot sponsor non-U.S. persons for an export-control license.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, quality, or another regulated operational domain.
• SAP-centric supply chain data and integration experience, including ECC/S/4HANA, IBP, MM, PP, QM, SD, EWM/WM, MDG, or BTP.
• Advanced Databricks, Terraform, feature store, vector search, model monitoring, and lakehouse governance experience.
• Experience with forecasting, optimization, simulation, anomaly detection, scheduling, inventory, logistics, or decision intelligence.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering communities of practice.
