TL;DR
Director of Government Contract Accounting (FAR/CAS): Leading accounting, reporting, and costing activities for government contracts across a major infrastructure contractor with an accent on regulatory compliance, contract management, and cross-business collaboration. Focus on developing accounting policies and processes, preparing incurred cost submissions and forward pricing rate agreements, and coordinating complex reporting requirements.

Location: Corporate office in Brownsville, Wisconsin, or offices in Green Bay, Wisconsin; Houston, Texas; Madison, Wisconsin; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; or Neenah, Wisconsin

What you will do

  • Lead accounting and reporting for all government contracts and related costing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Establish and modify accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Oversee fulfillment of government contract reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate collaboration and communication across business units.
  • Build a high-performing team and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or operations management.
  • 10+ years of experience in government contracting, including pre-award and post-award contract management, or an equivalent combination.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAR and CAS, including Incurred Cost Proposals/Submissions, Forward Pricing Rate Agreements, and certified cost or pricing data requirements.
  • Experience identifying and improving systems and procedures, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to independently develop and execute project management plans while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license for the vehicles driven and an acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager or Certified Professional Contracts Manager designation.
  • Experience interfacing with the Defense Contract Audit Agency.
