Controller/VP of Finance

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day accounting and Business Office operations for the college.
• Improve processes for accounts payable, procurement, student receivables, cash receipts, and accounting operations.
• Establish accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and prepare financial statements, reports, forecasts, and analyses.
• Monitor cash flow, banking activities, debt, credit lines, bond covenant compliance, endowment accounting, pledges, grants, and contracts.
• Partner with the CFO/VP of Finance on budgeting, financial planning, risk management, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience.
• Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner is required.
• Higher education accounting experience is required or strongly preferred, and nonprofit accounting experience is required.
• Experience leading and developing accounting or finance teams, improving processes, and managing organizational transformation.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, and working knowledge of FERPA.
