Test Engineering Technician (Contract)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; on-site lab environment

Salary: $35–$75 USD per hour

What you will do

• Support engineering prototype builds of complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Troubleshoot circuits down to the device level in collaboration with electrical engineering.
• Perform soldering, mechanical assembly, and fabrication of simple test boxes and cables.
• Conduct system- and equipment-level testing according to engineering direction.
• Prepare test articles and support post-test product tear-downs with reliability and test teams.
• Provide product-performance feedback and help build the technician organization.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics or a related field, and/or 5 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in an R&D or development laboratory working closely with engineering staff.
• Experience with prototype builds, testing, and fixture builds.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Shapr3D and SolidWorks.
• Strong collaboration, initiative, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and manage materials and equipment safely.

Nice to have

• Production support experience.
• Software development experience.
