Integration Lead (Microsoft Azure Fabric)

Location: United States — Remote; periodic travel is required based on business and client needs.

Hourly rate: $100–$120 USD, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of enterprise data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
• Facilitate client workshops and translate business, data, security, and operational requirements into technical integration designs.
• Design batch, near-real-time, event-driven, API-based, and file-based integration patterns across CRM, ERP, SIS, finance, HR, fundraising, and analytics platforms.
• Develop reusable integration frameworks, data contracts, mappings, monitoring, error handling, reconciliation, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and lead technical design reviews, modernization roadmaps, and solution recommendations.
• Mentor integration developers and data engineers while supporting project planning, estimates, and pre-sales activities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in data integration, application integration, data engineering, or enterprise technology consulting.
• 4+ years working with Microsoft Azure data and integration technologies, including 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience preferred.
• 3+ years leading technical teams, integration workstreams, or enterprise integration projects.
• Advanced experience with Fabric Data Factory and/or Azure Data Factory, including pipelines, triggers, transformations, parameterization, monitoring, and error handling.
• Strong knowledge of Fabric architecture, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Azure SQL, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, SFTP, OAuth 2.0, managed identities, and advanced SQL.
• Higher Education experience is strongly preferred, particularly with Advancement, fundraising, alumni relations, constituent engagement, and systems such as Salesforce, Ellucian, Blackbaud, Workday, or PeopleSoft.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing SSIS, Informatica, Oracle, custom SQL jobs, or other legacy integration solutions.
• Knowledge of medallion architecture, Lakehouse design, Microsoft Purview, Power BI semantic models, Azure DevOps, Git, Python, PySpark, or Fabric notebooks.
• Microsoft certifications related to Fabric, Azure data engineering, Azure architecture, Azure development, or Power BI.
• Consulting experience with institutional executives, IT leadership, functional teams, and technical stakeholders.
