Data & AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN; Chandler, AZ; Irving, TX; or Charlotte, NC, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support scalable ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop reusable ETL and ELT pipelines for governed analytical data stores and semantic models.
• Build relational, dimensional, semantic, and analytical models for Power BI, Excel, human analysis, and approved AI-assisted workflows.
• Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from enterprise systems, Excel, files, APIs, reports, email-delivered data, and approved web sources.
• Profile, validate, reconcile, and monitor data quality while implementing remediation and traceability controls.
• Use and validate approved generative AI tools for SQL and code development, analysis, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and repeatable prompt-based workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, analytics engineering, data integration, or a related discipline.
• Advanced hands-on Microsoft SQL Server and complex SQL development experience.
• Experience delivering reusable ETL or ELT pipelines and enterprise data models using repository-driven standards and Medallion methodology.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience or strong experience with a comparable modern cloud data platform.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, data models, PivotTables, advanced formulas, and external data connections.
• Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Minneapolis, Chandler, Irving, or Charlotte, work independently, and communicate technical findings to nontechnical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, or semantic models.
• Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate experience.
• Python, PySpark, PowerShell, Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, or comparable lakehouse experience.
• Experience with APIs, JSON, XML, HTML parsing, browser automation, or approved web data extraction.
• GitHub, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, CI/CD, automated testing, or regulated-data experience.
