Senior Hardware Test Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid work with approximately 3 days per week in the Boston office. Flexible days and hours; Boston, New York, and Paris office hubs are available.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus equity, PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and execute hardware, firmware, and embedded-system testing in accordance with the quality management system.
• Create and maintain test plans, protocols, scripts, procedures, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, characterization, verification, and firmware unit testing.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, system, software, design, manufacturing, and quality engineers to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support product development from concept through commercialization, including system integration and manufacturing.
• Improve testing efficiency through process improvements and test automation while documenting development and production processes.

Requirements

• BS in engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of professional engineering experience; alternatively, an MS degree or above with 3+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience writing technical specifications and documentation, including requirements, test plans, protocols, and reports.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics.
• Experience with embedded software running on a real-time operating system and with Python or similar scripting languages.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and performing root cause analysis for hardware and firmware issues in electromechanical systems.
• Experience with Git, JIRA, and GitHub.

• Knowledge of medical-device design controls and regulatory requirements.
