Senior Software Engineer – Connectivity Software Verification (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, United States; attendance at the assigned GM location is required at least three times per week. The role is not eligible for relocation benefits, and relocation costs are the candidate's responsibility.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end verification strategies for Bluetooth, Digital Key, telematics, WLAN, and VLAN connectivity features.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated regression, integration, system-level, stress, and long-run test suites.
• Build test frameworks, harnesses, simulators, stubs, mocks, log parsers, and Python-based automation tools.
• Debug complex connectivity issues across ECUs, mobile devices, backend services, telematics control units, and in-vehicle networks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines, stabilize continuous and nightly runs, and provide data-driven quality and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with embedded software, systems, architecture, cybersecurity, performance, and validation teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software verification, validation, or quality engineering with hands-on test development.
• Experience testing embedded or real-time systems, preferably in automotive, mobile, telecom, or networking domains.
• Strong programming and scripting skills for test automation, including Python; familiarity with C/C++ or Java is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy, Digital Key, WLAN, VLAN, TCP/UDP, routing, DNS, security protocols, and system-level testing.
• Experience with logs, traces, protocol analyzers, defect tracking, CI environments, Jenkins, and Git-based workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive connectivity, infotainment, telematics, CAN, LIN, SOME/IP, UDS, or in-vehicle Ethernet.
• Hands-on experience with Bluetooth LE, UWB, NFC, secure storage, and mobile app integration for Digital Key systems.
• Experience with Robot Framework, HIL testing, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable automation stacks.
• Prior mentoring or technical leadership experience and strong analysis of test-result dashboards, logs, and customer feedback.
