Reinsurance Operations Manager (Insurance)

Location: Austin, Dallas, Morristown, or San Jose, United States. The listed Morristown, New Jersey base pay range applies to this role.

Salary: $115,000–$175,000 per year, plus equity compensation.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day reinsurance operations and act as the primary business liaison for the ReAcct ceded reinsurance subledger.
• Review contractual terms and coordinate the setup of new and renewal quota share and excess of loss reinsurance programs.
• Partner with Data and IT teams to define data requirements, test configurations, and validate system deliverables.
• Oversee reconciliations between the ceded reinsurance subledger and source systems, investigating and resolving material variances.
• Manage cash application, settlement approvals, billing statements, receivables, payables, and broker queries.
• Monitor ReAcct performance and capacity while supporting financial close, SOX compliance, reporting, and system enhancements with IT and external vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations.
• Experience reviewing and approving the work of others.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF formulas.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional work with accounting, data, IT, procurement, and reinsurance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with ReAcct or another reinsurance or policy administration system, including contract setup, testing, and validation.
• Property and casualty insurance industry experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and US statutory accounting principles.
• Knowledge of underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and ceded reinsurance accounting reports such as Schedule F.
• Experience overseeing offshore or outsourced operations teams.
