AI DevOps Engineer

Location: On-site in Rockville, Maryland; travel may be required across the United States.

Salary: $115,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and support continuous integration pipelines, cloud build and release processes, and reusable automation code.
• Develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities, including application features and infrastructure, in collaboration with software architects, developers, and DBAs.
• Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, networks, operating systems, application servers, databases, and local services.
• Monitor, debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application and infrastructure performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements, participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, conduct code reviews, and document technical specifications and processes.
• Implement security and data protection measures and provide technical mentoring and cross-training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10 years of relevant experience, including software development, databases, web technologies, operating systems, scripting, version control, application servers, and support operations.
• Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering, generative AI, large language models, AI solution architecture, and AI/ML prototyping, testing, evaluation, performance assessment, and monitoring.
• Experience deploying AI/ML capabilities within approved cloud, application, and infrastructure environments, with knowledge of responsible AI, information security, privacy, documentation, and technical risk management.
• Strong experience with AWS services, AWS or Azure DevOps, Linux/Unix tools, Windows Server, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Perl, Shell, Git, TFS, CVS, and SVN.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance required.

Nice to have

• Additional experience applying artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Knowledge of database systems and cloud platforms.
