E-Beam Systems Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $159,500–$271,200 annually

What you will do

• Lead the design, integration, validation, and qualification of advanced e-beam and SEM systems and subsystems.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, verification strategies, and integration plans for new products.
• Lead system-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, mechanical, physics, and product engineering teams to evaluate trade-offs and optimize performance.
• Support product introduction, manufacturing transfer, and technology deployment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced instrumentation, or related high-technology product development; minimum qualifications list 6 years with a master’s degree.
• Experience as a systems engineering professional leading multidisciplinary technical development efforts.
• Strong foundation in electronics, hardware/software integration, requirements development, system integration, verification, validation, and technical risk management.
• Ability to independently lead cross-functional engineering activities and execute complex technical projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• SEM or e-beam system design experience.
• Mixed-signal electronics, FPGA-based designs, or embedded control systems experience.
• Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting and data analysis experience for characterization, test automation, diagnostics, and data acquisition.
• Vacuum technology, high-voltage technology, requirements traceability, verification planning, or MBSE experience.
