Global Settlements Associate 1 (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end global equity settlement across multiple international markets, coordinating with custodians, counterparties, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor settlement activity, trade matching, buy-ins, penalties, aged fails, and transactions at risk of failing.
• Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions, trade mismatches, allocation issues, booking errors, and FX-related discrepancies.
• Perform daily cash and securities-position reconciliations across multiple currencies and markets, documenting and resolving breaks.
• Maintain operational controls and records supporting SEC, FINRA, audit, and regulatory requirements, including SEC Rule 15c3-3.
• Produce operational reporting and partner with Engineering and Product to automate workflows and improve settlement processes using SQL, Metabase, and AI tools.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of brokerage operations experience focused on global equity settlements.
• Strong understanding of securities settlement lifecycles, third-party clearing firms, global custodians, and U.S. broker-dealer operations.
• Experience with BNY Nexen or similar custody platforms, SWIFT MT54x messaging, Euroclear, DTCC, and international settlement practices across Europe and Asia.
• Strong experience with multi-currency cash and position reconciliations and resolving trade discrepancies with counterparties.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Metabase or similar reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Possess the SIE Exam and Series 99 license or higher, or obtain Series 99 within 180 days of hire.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience in brokerage operations, reconciliations, settlements, accounting, banking, or financial services.
• Experience with DTCC U.S. equity settlement processing, tokenized securities, or digital asset settlement.
• Experience using Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or other AI productivity tools to automate workflows or improve analysis.
• Series 7 or additional FINRA licenses.
• Experience in a high-growth fintech or electronic brokerage environment.
