TL;DR
Senior Manager, IM NA Public Affairs, Canada (MedTech): Leading Canadian public affairs strategies and initiatives supporting healthcare policy, market access, launch readiness, and reputation priorities with an accent on policy engagement, issues preparedness, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on translating complex healthcare topics, advising senior leaders, managing reputation-critical decisions, and coordinating stakeholder and agency relationships across North America.

Location: Preferred office location in Toronto, Canada, with consideration given to Washington, DC, United States. The role may support public affairs work across North America.

Base pay: $122,000–$212,750 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead and implement Canadian public affairs strategies aligned with enterprise, access, and therapeutic area priorities.
  • Develop initiatives that contribute to healthcare policy conversations and improve operating conditions.
  • Build integrated policy, issues management, communications, and reputation strategies with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop launch-readiness communications and public affairs plans for new therapies, assets, and indications in Canada.
  • Manage media relations, external engagement, stakeholder relationships, and policy-influencer interactions.
  • Coordinate agency support and collaborate with regional and global public affairs leaders on scalable strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in public affairs, government affairs, policy, or communications.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare policy landscape and public discussion around healthcare and life sciences.
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Experience advising and influencing senior leaders in a matrix environment.
  • Good judgment, issues management experience, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Education in communications, public relations, journalism, English, political science, public policy, or a related field.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, government, or healthcare consulting experience.
  • French language capability.
