Laboratory Analyst IV (Environmental Testing)

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, USA; candidates should live within commuting distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 2nd shift, with flexibility for 1st shift if needed. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship is required.

Salary: USD 28–38 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Prepare, batch, extract, and analyze organic and inorganic environmental samples, including complex matrices and special client requests.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments such as GC-MS, GC-QQQ, GC-FID, GC-ECD, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS.
• Select and adapt analytical methods, prepare reagents and standards, and schedule sample workloads according to deadlines and hold times.
• Upload laboratory data into LIMS and perform Level I and Level II data reviews for accurate, compliant client data packages.
• Maintain laboratory records, equipment, supplies, glassware, sample storage, housekeeping, and environmental health and safety standards.
• Review and support the work of other analysts, assist with training, communicate sample issues, and contribute to quality assurance investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field; three years of laboratory experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least six years of laboratory procedures experience, preferably in a production environment.
• Advanced knowledge of scientific methods, method compliance, standard operating procedures, laboratory safety, and chemical hazards.
• Experience operating and calibrating laboratory instruments and working with laboratory software, LIMS, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Strong mathematics, analytical, problem-solving, organization, communication, and report-review skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English and unrestricted US work authorization without sponsorship are required.
