Senior Automation Engineer (Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States. Work model: On-site Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement software and hardware improvements for automated and new equipment under change control.
• Provide PLC- and HMI-based technical support to Manufacturing, Quality Control, Facilities, Engineering, and Validation teams.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing deviations related to automated control systems.
• Support process control and monitoring equipment through software design, commissioning, testing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Develop engineering design documents, technical evaluations, test plans, system specifications, and FAT/SAT protocols in line with GAMP 5.
• Provide technical leadership for manufacturing, engineering, and validation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 5+ years of aligned experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience designing and maintaining process control and/or data acquisition systems.
• Experience programming, diagnosing, and resolving issues with DeltaV DCS and PLCs.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley and Siemens control system products and video graphic chart recorders.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in a cleanroom environment and follow gowning requirements, including removal of jewelry, makeup, and nail adornments.
