Salary: $143,000–$247,000 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Lead complex development of active and passive silicon photonic device components.
• Simulate, design, and coordinate testing of new silicon photonic devices.
• Plan, coordinate, and document photonic device qualification across integration, reliability, modeling, and test teams.
• Identify technical issues, design experiments, and determine root causes to improve processes and meet requirements.
• Support customers in evaluating new solutions and debugging technology-versus-design challenges.
• Travel to other hirify.global facilities as needed, typically less than 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Material Science, Photonics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in advanced photonic device design, integration, testing, or advanced packaging: at least 11 years with a B.S., 8 years with an M.S., or 7 years with a Ph.D.
• Experience with silicon photonic device simulation, design, and testing.
• Strong communication, coordination, planning, and organizational skills across departments and geographical locations.
• Fluent written and verbal English is required.
• Ability to work safely and comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.

Nice to have

• Silicon photonic modulator design experience using BTO or TFLN.
• Silicon photonic design experience using the hirify.global PDK.
• Silicon photonic simulation experience.
• Project management experience, including navigating ambiguity and tracking projects through completion.
