Receiving Technician

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana; on-site at the Port of Alexandria Facility

What you will do

• Unload inbound trucks and receive, inspect, organize, and consolidate stock and project-specific materials.
• Package, band, bundle, wrap, reel, and spool shipments; construct wooden shipping crates and load outbound trucks.
• Perform light manufacturing tasks, including drilling and cutting aluminum or copper conductors.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery safely while maintaining a strong safety record.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, material damage, and shipping issues with Logistics, Project Coordinators, and Project Managers.
• Maintain the warehouse, grounds, facilities, equipment, and machinery, and support quality and productivity improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read measuring devices and perform basic shop math with fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
• Experience using basic hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work safely with warehouse machinery and equipment.

Nice to have

• Warehouse or manufacturing experience.
• Substation experience, experience pinning steel, or the ability to read blueprints.
• Experience operating lift trucks and man-lifts.
• Basic knowledge of assembling rigid and flexible bus conductors.
