Senior AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States or Warsaw, Poland; 70% in-office work model. Due to export-control requirements, only U.S. persons are eligible, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $145,900–$234,200 annually, plus potential discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Define architecture and technical strategy for AI platforms, GenAI applications, agentic workflows, ML services, and cloud-based data products.
• Lead cloud deployment standards across development, testing, validation, and production environments using lakehouse, Unity Catalog, MLflow, model serving, and governance patterns.
• Build critical software components, APIs, orchestration patterns, reusable libraries, and platform accelerators for production AI delivery.
• Establish AI/ML/LLMOps practices covering testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, versioning, evaluation, monitoring, incident response, and rollback.
• Integrate SAP and enterprise data into trusted data products, feature pipelines, semantic layers, and decision-support services for supply chain and other business functions.
• Partner with product, cybersecurity, quality, validation, and infrastructure teams while mentoring engineers and improving reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI, data science, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of software, data, or AI engineering experience, including 4+ years delivering production ML, GenAI, analytics, automation, or data-intensive systems.
• Expert Python and SQL skills, software architecture experience, and proficiency in an additional language such as Java, Scala, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on frontend and backend engineering experience, including TypeScript/JavaScript, modern frameworks, production APIs, authentication, testing, observability, and debugging.
• Experience architecting LLM/GenAI systems with RAG, agents, embeddings, vector search, evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus secure and compliant systems experience in regulated environments, including GxP, validation, data integrity, and change control.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, quality, or another regulated operational domain.
• Experience with SAP supply chain systems, Databricks, Terraform, feature stores, vector search, model monitoring, and lakehouse governance.
• Applied experience in forecasting, optimization, simulation, anomaly detection, scheduling, inventory, logistics, or decision intelligence.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction across global teams.
