Engineer, Sensor - Mac, Linux, or Windows (Hybrid)

Location: USA - Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid. Canadian-based employment is also described for eligible candidates who maintain legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year for U.S. candidates, or $115,000–$165,000 CAD per year for Canadian-based employment, plus variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop core features for the Falcon Host sensor on Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Build functionality across operating-system subsystems including filesystems, memory, processes, and networking.
• Collaborate with sensor development teams on architecture and strategic initiatives.
• Own features from initial design through delivery and demonstrate completed work during sprint reviews.
• Guide development teams in implementing software for cross-platform delivery.
• Work with distributed, cross-functional teams to deliver major features and releases.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of C and C++.
• Extensive understanding of Linux, Windows, or macOS internals.
• Experience debugging memory corruption, process contention, and system performance bottlenecks.
• Experience collaborating on major software features and releases.
• Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, and collaborate within a geographically distributed team.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience developing scalable, lightweight, high-performance systems.
• Strong expertise in operating-system concepts and core subsystems.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of security principles.
• Experience with eBPF.
