Philanthropy Officer - Major Gifts - Foundation (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Report to the President of the Foundation and develop strategies for individual, major gift, planned giving, foundation, and corporate prospects.
• Grow and manage a major gift portfolio to achieve assigned fundraising goals.
• Lead donor and prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Build prospect pipelines through collaboration with leaders and colleagues, discovery visits, and physician referrals.
• Develop gift strategies, solicitations, stewardship plans, donor reports, acknowledgement letters, and engagement opportunities.
• Track fundraising progress and results in Blackbaud while following organizational policies.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and college-level education; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 5–7 years of fundraising experience in higher education.
• Experience in healthcare, academic science, or higher education development is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, relationship management, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking skills.
• Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and administering innovative fundraising programs.
• Ability to work with faculty, senior executives, community leaders, donors, and colleagues while applying feedback and maintaining confidentiality.
