Project Engineer III (Power Systems)

What you will do

• Lead and participate in conceptual and detailed design, execution, development, and support across multiple complex projects.
• Prepare and present proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
• Lead project teams, resolve customer concerns, and support customer satisfaction.
• Manage deliverables within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise as needed.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems or industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of power-system protection and control, integration, automation, communications, system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
• Ability to lead and supervise project teams, communicate effectively, learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
• Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with Vision or other project-management tracking software.
• Experience in automation, commissioning, design, networking, proposals, protection, security, studies, or project management; relevant tools and standards include PLCs, IEC 61850, DNP, Modbus, SCADA, PSSE, ETAP, RTDS, NERC/CIP, and NIST SP800.
