(Senior) Application Engineer (Motor Control)(m/w/d)

Develops semiconductor solutions and application technologies for industrial motor-control and motor-drive systems.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and validate reference designs and application boards using discrete, analog, and power IC solutions.
• Create schematics, select components, and collaborate on PCB layout to optimize performance, efficiency, cost, thermal behavior, and reliability.
• Perform electrical, thermal, and system-level validation, including efficiency analysis, switching characterization, transient response testing, thermal profiling, and EMC pre-compliance evaluation.
• Provide technical support to customers and sales teams, troubleshoot designs, support design-in activities, and participate in customer engagements, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions.
• Create application notes, design guides, simulation models, user manuals, and web-based technical content.
• Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and system architects to define requirements, identify use cases, and contribute to product roadmap development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in application engineering, hardware design, or power electronics.
• Experience developing reference designs or evaluation boards for stepper motors, brushed DC motors, BLDCs, PMSMs, and induction drives.
• Strong understanding of three-phase power systems, inverter topologies, switching behavior, losses, and efficiency optimization.
• Technical experience with PCB design and layout using Altium or KiCad, plus familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PLECS, thermal analysis, and EMC compatibility.
• Business-fluent English is required, both written and spoken.
