Commercial Underwriting Counsel/Commercial Underwriter (Remote)

Location: Remote within the USA; position associated with Kansas City, Missouri

Salary: $88,900–$118,500 annually

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies.
• Evaluate and approve commercial title insurance transactions within delegated authority.
• Guide internal teams in delivering real estate settlement services.
• Develop and communicate underwriting standards and guidelines.
• Share underwriting and settlement-services expertise with agents, customers, and internal partners.
• Support additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of title underwriting experience.
• For Underwriting Counsel: law degree and admission and licensure to practice in the state of employment.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of real estate law, including federal and state regulations.
• Deep understanding of title insurance, settlement processes, and industry practices.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
