Registered Nurse, RN - Labor & Delivery, Part Time

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States. Part-time night shift, 24 hours per week, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.; every third weekend.

Salary: $37.50–$75.32 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families in a complex labor and delivery care area.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Use nursing judgment to adapt care plans to changes in patient health status and coordinate patient assignments through effective delegation.
• Develop patient and family education and discharge plans using appropriate referrals and community resources.
• Support informed patient and family decisions, including advance directives and patient rights.
• Support new staff development, precept colleagues, participate in committees, and contribute to performance improvement and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience required; experience requirements vary by Career Direct Care Pathway level.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient-care area may be required.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to lift and turn patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially carcinogenic chemicals.
