Civil Engineer Intern

Location: Duluth, MN; candidates must reside in the Duluth area and be able to travel for meetings, client consultations, and on-site inspections.

Salary: $21–$24 per hour, based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Support municipal engineering projects of varying size and complexity.
• Participate in construction inspection and monitoring of work crews.
• Read roadway plans and specifications.
• Contribute to transportation, traffic, surveying, and hydraulics-related projects.
• Travel for team meetings, client consultations, and on-site inspections, with potential overtime.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in an undergraduate Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related program.
• Ability to travel as needed for meetings, client consultations, and site inspections.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Applicants must reside in the Duluth, Minnesota area; current hiring is unavailable in AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, and PR.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction inspection, monitoring, or supervision of work crews.
• Knowledge of roadway plan and specification reading.
• Coursework or experience in transportation, traffic, surveying, or hydraulics/fluid dynamics.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
