2027 Summer Intern - Water/Wastewater Engineering

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; primarily onsite at the Bloomington office or an assigned project site, with possible flexible or hybrid arrangements

What you will do

• Support planning and design for underground utilities, storm sewer and drainage systems, wastewater collection and treatment, and drinking water infrastructure.
• Contribute to street design and multi-use trail system projects.
• Research materials and code requirements and prepare design calculations.
• Develop cost and quantity estimates, reports, and technical specifications.
• Work alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians on project assignments.
• Assist with site visits, inspections, construction observations, and surveying activities as needed.

Requirements

• Undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure design.
• Previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to support technical reports and specifications.
• Ability to travel locally for project assignments, meetings, and site visits.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience developing construction documentation for municipal or industrial water/wastewater infrastructure or facilities projects.
• Training or experience with ArcMap, XPSWWM, SewerCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, or Revit.
• Experience with site inspections, construction observations, surveying instruments, data interpretation, or staking.
