Senior Billing Specialist

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. The role may require travel to and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.

Salary: $18.65–$20.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Review and update failed bills and claims across host systems and billing vendors.
• Process electronic submissions and resolve claim issues, including late charges, rebills, and daily claim errors.
• Prepare hardcopy claims and attach EOBs, medical records, and other documentation required for payment.
• Contact patients, insurers, and third parties to obtain insurance information and billing data.
• Identify recurring system issues and recommend billing process improvements, including the use of emerging technology.
• Create training materials, deliver mock training, educate staff, and support staffing desk coverage.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Billing experience with multiple payers or subject matter expertise with one payer.
• CPB certification required; Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification must be obtained within 9 months of hire, with company-paid certification.
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft Excel proficiency, and a typing speed of at least 35 error-adjusted words per minute.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States; the role may require onsite work at client or company locations.

Nice to have

• Two years of an accredited degree program or equivalent experience.
• Ability to provide a mock training session during the interview.
