People Operations Generalist (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Sunnyvale, California office, with onsite work three days per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD base salary per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about policies, benefits, leaves, immigration, and People Operations.
• Manage immigration cases, including petitions, extensions, transfers, amendments, and permanent residency filings in coordination with outside counsel.
• Administer U.S. benefits, annual open enrollment, qualifying life events, carrier coordination, and post-enrollment audits.
• Manage leaves of absence from initial notice through return to work, including FMLA, CFRA, parental, and personal leave.
• Own onboarding and orientation, including pre-hire communications, I-9 verification, HRIS setup, records maintenance, and content improvements.
• Support compliance reporting, audits, employee engagement, culture initiatives, and other People Operations projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in People Operations or Human Resources.
• Working knowledge of U.S. employment compliance, leaves of absence, I-9 requirements, and benefits.
• Strong operational mindset with the ability to build structure, improve processes, and drive execution.
• Ability to work effectively in high-growth, ambiguous environments with changing priorities.
• Proactive, results-oriented approach with sound decision-making and ownership.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage employees across the organization.
