Software Engineer, Lead (Principal Engineer)

What you will do

• Lead architecture and design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, observability, and end-to-end application design.
• Design and lead AWS-based cloud-native solutions using modern architecture practices, serverless workflows, containers, and declarative coding.
• Optimize cloud data lakes and processing frameworks for real-time and near-real-time ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
• Evaluate software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts and architecture reviews.
• Apply security and DevSecOps principles, maintain architecture documentation, and establish reusable engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product owners and cross-functional technical teams to align solutions with business priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including 3+ years in system or application design.
• Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS, including event-driven and streaming architectures and EKS/ECS containers.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, modern software development methodologies, technical leadership, and cross-functional projects.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future hirify.global immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
• Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and developing hands-on proof-of-concepts.
• Experience automating finance-domain business processes.
