Field Service Engineer (AutoChem)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; on-site field service and travel required.

What you will do

• Install, repair, upgrade, and maintain AutoChem instrumentation, including infrared reaction profiling, laser crystallization monitoring, automated laboratory reactor, and sampling systems.
• Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems, including proprietary software and associated applications.
• Schedule, execute, document, and track service assignments through satisfactory completion.
• Manage customer issues, escalations, field inventory, service agreements, key accounts, and travel expenses.
• Deliver customer training, product positioning, lead generation, equipment qualification, and value-added services.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Support and provide feedback on non-conformance issues and technical improvements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in chemistry, chemical, electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience troubleshooting electronic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems, or an equivalent combination of education, military training, and hands-on experience.
• English required, with excellent oral and written customer communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Willingness to perform on-site field service and travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrared technology, optics, lasers, HPLC, GC, or mass spectrometry.
• Background in chemistry or chemical engineering.
