Program Engineer (Facilities)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; project work across Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Remote work is eligible with restrictions, and travel of up to 25% may be required, including rural locations off the road system.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for facilities-focused engineering programs and align program objectives with long-range business and technology plans.
• Develop program plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, resources, architecture, lifecycle management, and operational support.
• Support technology projects from initiation through completion and operations hand-off.
• Lead project engineers and cross-functional teams through complex projects spanning multiple departments and disciplines.
• Manage risks, dependencies, quality, compliance, technical execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with project managers, stakeholders, and executive leadership; facilitate workshops and present program status updates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, project management, business, IT/IS, or a related discipline.
• At least seven years of progressive professional engineering experience; relevant work experience may substitute for education or required years on a year-for-year basis.
• Broad knowledge of engineering program planning, technical strategy, risk management, resource allocation, and project execution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
• Professional knowledge of the telecommunications industry and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, work occasional shifts or additional hours when needed, and work in office, home-office, and rural field settings.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with broadband internet, ISP infrastructure, fiber-optic networks, wireless, microwave, satellite communications, capacity planning, lifecycle management, IT, or security.
• PMP, PgMP, Agile, or Scrum certification.
