TL;DR
Program Manager I (Aerospace & Defense): Managing multiple aerospace and defense projects supporting next-generation airborne command-and-control aircraft with an accent on customer relationships, cost control, scheduling, technical execution, and team leadership. Focus on coordinating complex program lifecycles, managing risks and opportunities, negotiating contracts, and delivering programs with budgets up to $20M.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required.

Estimated starting salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple aerospace and defense projects across customer relationships, cost, schedule, technical planning, and execution.
  • Track and report project status, program performance, technical execution, risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Supervise cross-functional program and project staff and lead teams responsible for meeting program requirements.
  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support resource planning, proposal development, contract negotiations, audits, and business operations.
  • Manage programs with budgets of up to $20M while maintaining cost, budget, and schedule constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of progressive project or program management experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading teams of 3 or more cross-functional members.
  • Experience with proposals or quotes, contract negotiations, multiple projects, customer-facing program leadership, financial management, and program integration.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, conflict resolution, resource planning, and risk management skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and a current, active Top Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Project Management Professional certification or an advanced degree.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, PMBOK, CMMI, agile or spiral development, Earned Value Management, and corporate project management tools.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes and application tools or data architectures.
