Freelance Event Specialist

Location: On-site in Brookhaven, New York, United States; open only to candidates already based in Brookhaven, NY

What you will do

• Prepare for events through virtual planning meetings with corporate, nonprofit, venue, and hirify.global stakeholders.
• Lead onsite setup, event delivery, coordination, teardown, cleanup, and repackaging of materials.
• Represent hirify.global as the onsite leader, coordinating event hosts, nonprofit partners, venues, staff, and corporate partners.
• Manage guest check-in and provide a warm, high-quality customer experience.
• Resolve supply, staffing, technology, and other event issues, escalating when necessary.
• Send event updates, photos, and videos to the Events Team and prepare materials for return shipment.

Requirements

• Fluent English and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in Brookhaven, NY, with availability for per-event contract work.
• Experience with complex large-scale events and smaller executive-level events.
• Strong organization, resourcefulness, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics.
• Availability for flexible hours, including nights and weekends; willingness to travel locally and work with crowds.
• Ability to lift, slide, and carry up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
