Production Planner (AI)

Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; onsite role with significant time on the production floor

Salary: CAD 38.22–50 per hour

What you will do

• Develop and manage weekly production schedules while balancing capacity, labor requirements, inventory, and material availability.
• Monitor manufacturing progress, production status, risks, bottlenecks, shortages, and projected completion dates.
• Adjust schedules to changing priorities, production conditions, and customer delivery requirements.
• Use ERP technology, data analytics, and continuous improvement principles to improve planning and workflow performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Programs, Supply Chain, production supervisors, and department leads.
• Participate in production meetings and communicate priorities across departments.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of production planning, scheduling, or production management experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, capacity planning, and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Experience with ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, data analysis, planning process improvement, production drawings, work orders, and bills of material.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada for more than five years and able to obtain NATO Secret-level security clearance through the Canadian Contract Security Program.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered planning tools, predictive analytics, or advanced planning software.
• Experience with custom or low-volume manufacturing.
