Power System Engineering Intern - Digital Grid Management - Summer 2027

Location: Medina, Minnesota, United States. Hybrid schedule with 4 days in the office and 1 remote day per week; the internship is based at the hirify.global Digital Grid Management Headquarters.

Hourly internship pay rate: $24.00–$28.00.

Company

Develops Digital Grid Management software for electric utilities and other industries to monitor, optimize, and manage complex energy networks.

What you will do

• Assist with configuring and testing EMS or ADMS applications for customer deployments.
• Support power system modeling and data validation activities.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate testing and data analysis workflows.
• Create documentation and training materials for power systems applications.
• Participate in customer meetings and gain exposure to project delivery processes.
• Present a final internship project to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Working toward a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or a related field.
• Coursework or interest in power systems, electric circuits, or energy systems.
• Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and drive solutions with initiative and persistence.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
• Temporary visas, including E, F-1 with OPT or CPT, H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J, and TN, are not accepted.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Linux or Windows, Python, or other programming languages.
• Knowledge of power flow concepts, electrical transmission systems, or SCADA systems.
