Assistant Chemist - I (Pharmaceutical Laboratory)

What you will do

• Perform routine analytical testing of potent and non-potent pharmaceutical drug products and substances in a GMP laboratory.
• Conduct dissolution, assay/degradate, content uniformity, and identity testing.
• Document and report laboratory test results.
• Participate in laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and daily tier processes.
• Troubleshoot basic laboratory instrumentation issues.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or another STEM-related field.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Hoshin, and Standard Work.
• Knowledge of routine laboratory equipment operation, including Karl Fischer, pH meters, conductivity meters, UV instruments, HPLC, and dissolution apparatus.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, cGLP, and cGMP principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Beta Lactam screening and an eye exam are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with HPLC, dissolution apparatus, FTIR, or NIR equipment.
• Experience with Empower and Labware/LIMS.
• Experience with root cause analysis, technical writing, standard operating procedures, quality notifications, or Tier processes.
