Automotive Technician B (Automotive)

Location: 000272 Santa Fe, United States; onsite automotive retail service role

Salary: $20.60–$31.62 per hour, with flat-rate, performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform automotive maintenance and tire repairs according to specifications.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Assist with and train other technicians and mechanics.
• Maintain current automotive knowledge through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skills in brake and hydraulic systems, steering and suspension, or wheel alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment eligibility must be verified with Form I-9; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
