Location: San Diego, California, United States — onsite at 4575 Viewridge Ave

Salary: Starting at $29 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.

What you will do

• Produce and booth assigned newscasts while shaping overall coverage.
• Write news stories, teases, headlines, and scripts.
• Coordinate with anchors, reporters, writers, and editors to deliver accurate and engaging content.
• Attend editorial meetings, pitch and evaluate story ideas, and plan future segments.
• Book newsmakers, support reporters and managers with logistics and proofreading, and contribute to specials, cut-ins, CTV content, and the website.
• Use social media to identify and promote content while supporting breaking news coverage.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant line-producing experience in a working newsroom.
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is desired.
• Strong news judgment, story and tease writing, organization, attention to detail, and technical adaptability.
• Ability to work independently under extreme pressure and tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate positively, accept feedback, and lead within a strong team environment.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, holidays, and onsite breaking-news assignments as needed.
