HVAC Service Facility Technician (Commercial HVAC)

Location: Carpentersville, Illinois, United States; onsite facility work with on-call hours outside the normal office schedule.

Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Install, service, test, and repair commercial HVAC and air-conditioning systems ranging from one to forty tons.
• Install and connect compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, motors, temperature controls, humidity controls, fans, and control panels.
• Cut, bend, thread, join, solder, insulate, and test refrigerant tubing and piping for leaks and operating pressure.
• Diagnose and replace defective breakers, thermostats, switches, fuses, wiring, fixtures, and other electrical components.
• Maintain commercial and industrial buildings, including carpentry, cement work, painting, drywall patching, and plumbing repairs.
• Inspect machinery and equipment, provide staff support, and assist with related facility duties.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Experience working with contractors and other trades.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be bonded.
• Forklift operation knowledge and ability to use hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and testing instruments.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds with assistance, work overhead, and stand for extended periods.
• Good organization and follow-up skills, mature judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and participate in on-call coverage.
