Sample Shipping & Receiving Specialist (Laboratory Operations)

Location: Columbia, Missouri, USA; onsite and not remote. Candidates must currently live within a commutable distance of Columbia. No relocation assistance is provided. The role is full-time, first shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; up to 25% travel may be required.

What you will do

• Receive, identify, log, store, transfer, track, and archive laboratory samples and test materials.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and records for sample custody, storage, use, expiration, disposal, return, and study completion.
• Inspect samples and notify supervisors about condition, labeling, or other issues.
• Follow SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices, CGMP, and applicable USDA, DOT, EPA, OSHA, FDA, and other regulations.
• Unload trucks, store materials appropriately, calibrate balances, and support laboratory preparation activities.
• Depending on assignment, perform sample homogenization, radioactive residue analysis, culturing, dilution equipment support, and handling of regulated, biohazardous, radioactive, and toxic materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Strong computer, scientific, organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, learn new techniques, manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
• College laboratory coursework or familiarity with a laboratory environment is preferred.
• Farm or gardening experience may be preferred depending on the assignment.
